The general ambience ab=nd location suited us perfectly. Staff attentive but not intrusive. Restaurant evening meal was excellent - choice and quality superb.
Watch out for evening meal pricing. 2 courses £17.50, 3 courses £23.00. If you have 2 courses and opt for the cheese board (extra supplement) you are charged for a 3-course meal plus the £4.95 supplement. The cheese board costs £10.45 ! Lovely cheese board, but expensive.
Old world charm with great location. Food was excellent. Room exceeded expectations. We were looking for an old fashioned hotel with lots of ambience and were not disappointed. We will be returning.
Very pleasant evnironment, albeit a bit old world, and just what we wanted for a short seaside break. The food was excellent and not expensive, and the staff very attentive.
It was quiet and very relaxed. Well located for walking and golf courses. An efficient and well managed dining facility.
The friendliness of the staff and fellow guests. The good food.Good service.
The 34 stairs to the bedrooms and no lift. My party consisted of 4 ladies aged between 80 and 87.
Relaxed and close to sea, staff kind and friendly.
No lifts making access for people with prams or elderly people difficult
Pleasant and comfortable, friendly staff, near beach and town, easy to find by car. Reasonable price.
No lift to my second floor room - I am 77 and stairs are difficult. Dinner was indifferent, bland and quite expensive. I would not recommend visitors to eat in the hotel.
Very clean and comfortable room and tastefully decorated - excellent food for breakfast and evening meals - staff very pleasant and friendly.
Wouldn't recommend for young families though as this hotel attracts the very mature age group . Although in our 60's we still felt quite young !!!!
We stay regularly at the Wentworth because it is so comfortable, in an old-fashioned, slightly creaky country house sort of way. After the first stay it becomes a sort of home from home, The rooms are beautifully furnished and immaculately clean, and many have a wide view over the sea. Public rooms have plenty of space for relaxing, perhaps by the fire in winter. The food in the restaurant is imaginative, well-cooked, with plenty of local produce available. Can't praise the place enough. We love it.
The only disadvantage is that there is no lift, and the rooms with the best sea views are on the second floor.
My stay at the Wentworth was great. It was comfortable, relaxing and met all my expectations. I left feeling very chilled.
Pleasant staff and comfortable surroundings.Excellent fish menu and well cooked.
Our telephone booking for dinner was not passed on to the dining room. The discrepancy between the Thursday night and Friday night B&B rate seemed excessive!
Comfortable, quiet, efficient, friendly, excellent food, good value for money, excellent location near the beach.
Relaxed atmosphere and good food.
Reception and bar were not always manned.
Location and ambience
One impolite lady taking orders. And giving them!
the dinner menu was good. it was good one could pick and choose. i had dineer one night and the other night having had a large lunch at orford did not feel like a large 2 or 3 course dinner.
While it waas not a problem for us I did wonder if therre was a lift for guests who could not climb stairs.
